Mindful Explorers

After-School Program

Explore Within. Understand Yourself. Navigate the World.

Children experience big emotions every day—but understanding why they feel what they feel, what is happening in their bodies, and what to do with those emotions is something they have to learn.

Mindful Explorers is an interactive after-school program designed to help children develop emotional awareness, self-regulation, resilience, empathy, and a stronger understanding of themselves.

Through movement, breathing, games, storytelling, creative expression, reflection, and age-appropriate mindfulness practices, students become explorers of their own inner world.

They discover how the brain, body, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. They learn to notice the signals their bodies send, recognize emotional triggers, explore the thoughts behind their reactions, and practice tools that help them pause and choose how they want to respond.

More Than “Calming Down”

Mindful Explorers isn’t about telling children not to be angry, afraid, frustrated, excited, or sad.

It’s about helping them understand:

What am I feeling?
Where do I feel it in my body?
What might have triggered it?
What is my mind telling me right now?
What do I need?
What can I choose to do next?

By approaching emotions with curiosity instead of judgment, children begin developing a healthier relationship with themselves and others.
