The Case for Action
Senior Programs Overview
Every day in America, 10,000 people turn 65, yet millions face their golden years feeling isolated, digitally disconnected, and emotionally invisible. By 2030, 1 in 5 U.S. residents will be age 65 or older. While life expectancy has increased, quality of life and equitable access to enrichment, connection, and technology has not kept pace.
- Nearly 1 in 3 older adults report feeling lonely on a regular basis.
- 42% of seniors do not use the internet at all creating a digital barrier to health services, civic engagement, and social connection.
- Social isolation among older adults increases the risk of dementia by 50%, stroke by 32%, and early death by 29% (CDC, AARP, NIH).
Our programs are:
- Culturally responsive, bilingual, and trauma-informed.
- Designed to improve mental and emotional health through non-clinical supports.
- Delivered at no cost to under-resourced senior-serving sites across Colorado.
